I have a lot of text on my blog. Most bloggers do. I also have readers. But what would be great is if my content could be the catalyst for a live community. That’s what OpenTok is setting out to do.
OpenTok is created by TokBox, makers of a fantastic video email and live video chat platform of the same name that is unfortunately now defunct. OpenTok utilizes many of the same capabilities of TokBox, live video conversations, but now places that conversation around content, any content, and makes it super easy for developers to add that code. Ian Small, the CEO, says finishing their WordPress plugin is their top priority right now.
Take a look at this demo I shot with TokBox’s Marketing Associate, Lauren Brockie, at ITEXPO in Miami, Florida. I was at the event shooting videos for Ignite Technologies. Check out more of my coverage from the event at the Ignite Technologies’ blog.
It’s pretty darn cool, and I’m eager to take the WordPress plugin for a test drive on Spark Minute when it’s ready.
