Here’s some of my coverage from SXSW 2011 in Austin, Texas. I was covering the event for Dice News.
When I did standup comedy way back in the day, I knew Marc Maron, an extremely talented, funny, and exceptionally open comedian. More than a year ago, when his podcast, WTF, was taking off, we had an IM conversation about how he could make money from his podcast. I pointed him to an article I had written on Mashable entitled “9 Successful Techniques for Making Money from Podcasting.”
At SXSW I talked with Marc about how his podcast has changed his comedy career. He says people know him much more deeply. Maron realizes people who come to his show because of the podcast know him better than they should.
At the end of the interview I try to take credit for his financial success in podcasting.
