Whenever I cover a hackathon, the developers I talk to tell me how much they enjoy going to them. Hackathons attract scores of talented developers, designers and business people who all want to create something new in a day or two. It’s a chance to meet new people and work together on a common goal. And there’s something about staying up all night working with the hope of winning some prize money that’s just a ton of fun.
At the 2013 DeveloperWeek Hackathon in San Francisco, I asked the coders who had attended previous hackathons why do they keep coming back. Here are their answers:
